A reminder :)

Hey guys!

I had a wonderful day today, despite the fact that I couldn't go back home. Myself and 3 other friends from CF went to visit the street ministry at PJ Old Town Fellowship. More of us were supposed to go, but most people had to work or had something else on.

First, we went to see the building where the PJ Old Town Fellowship was based. There, we were brought to look around thenbuilding, and we were told of the work they do. After that, we were brought to this back lane where every Saturday, they give out free food to the homeless and such. I had always wanted to help out at a "soup kitchen", and today, I finally had the chance to! :D

The people who came were surprisingly quite jolly, and many even sang along happily to whatever song was being played. The four of us who went were taught how to serve food the "sushi belt" way, which I'm actually quite sad I didn't take a picture of (never mind, next time! :D). It's actually a really good idea where we all stand in one row, facing opposite directions alternately. For example, if I was standing facing the left side of the lane, the two people beside me, on my left and on my right, would be standing facing the right side of the lane, and the people on the other sides of them would be facing the same direction as me, and so on. That way, we can pass two plates at a time from side to side. Genius! :D

There was also a place where the people could come to get free medical check-ups and medications and so on. There was only one doctor there, and I was really impressed by him! He just kept seeing one patient after another, doing this and doing that for the people who came to see him, treating each and every one of them with respect and sincerity.

Really, it felt great being there and trying to help out in whatever way I could, even though I'm pretty sure I did more kacau-ing then actually helping xD The doctor and all the aunties helping out the were so nice, though! They kept letting me do things, letting me feel useful. They were so nice! The doctor was also so nice, he taught me how to take the patients' blood pressure!

In a particularly embarrassing moment, though, I couldn't for the life of me hear anything on the stethoscope, and then I realised I was wearing the stethoscope the wrong way! Haha I wore the left earpiece on my right ear and the right earpiece on my left. Oops! Fail lah, this medical student! Hahahaha I went, "errr, I think im wearing the stethoscope the wrong way" and the doctor looked over and said, "yeah, you are", and everyone there started laughing while I went "Oopsss!"

Everybody was so nice, though, and I kept feeling and thinking to myself that I would really love to serve there whenever I can, alongside all these people, serving together and showing God's love to so many people looking for love and for someone to just treat them like normal people.

I am really glad I went for the exposure outing just now. Earlier on in the week, I was deciding whether to stay back for this or to go back home for a wedding. I'm so glad God helped me decide to stay back for it! I was greatly blessed!

Also, I think I really needed to go there, and God knew it. He reminded me of the reason I chose to study medicine in the first place, that is so that one day, I can go out into the mission field and be useful and welcomed, helping the people who need medical attention and showing them that I have a God who loves, who loves them too. I needed the reminder that this is what He gave me a desire for, that this is His will for me, that medicine is the course He put me in.

People will come to a doctor, while people in other fields will usually have to go to the people. Medicine itself becomes a powerful tool for evangelism! :)

I think mummy is just a little jealous that I could help out at a soup kitchen today while she was at home! XP The soup kitchen is actually an idea mummy is very keen on :D Mummy says maybe one Saturday, when mummy and daddy come up to KL, we could all go and help out there! Yay! Sounds good :D

Oh oh oh and after everything was packed up there, the four of us had to walk pass Petaling street to get to the LRT station. There, I saw a guy with a monkey happily sitting behind him on a motorbike that was covered (decorated?) with leopard print! None of the three people I was with saw it, though, so they think maybe I was hallucinating. I don't think I was, though! XD

Mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Christmas Cheer! :)

Hey guys!!!

I wasn't kidding when I said I was already in the Christmas mood! I've been looking for and downloading all the Christmas apps and wallpapers and everything I can find!

Hahahahahaha there was this one app I came across, I think it's called 123 Sticker, and it's meant for young children, but what do I care, right?

So anyway, there I was, all excited about this new app I had just downloaded, and I spent a lot more time than I probably should have creating....
Tadaaaaa!!! :D
The app didn't have a sleigh, and I felt so smart using the Christmas tree decorations and presents and connecting them to the reindeer there! Hahahaha!!! I think the whole Christmas thing is really, really getting to my brain xD

And yeah yeah, I do know that my artistic talent is virtually nonexistent. Still, I wanted to share a bit of my Christmas cheer! :)

mwahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Buh-bye, people!!!

What Medical School?

Wow it has been really really long since I last updated! I would love to blame it on medical school, but I really can't :/

My class schedule is actually pretty free, like an-average-of-maybe-two-hours-of-lectures-per-day free, like I'm-done-for-the-day-even-before-lunch-time free, like you-won't-believe-I'm-in-medical-school free, like... I think you get the idea. Hahaha every now and again mummy would ask me, "Are you sure you signed up for the correct course? Where got medical student so free one?!?!?". Yeah, that's how bad it is xD

Although I love that we have so few hours of class, I'm starting to think that this system isn't really for me. I end up spending all my free time doing anything but what I'm supposed to be doing. I am the most relaxed student you can find, until the time comes for an exam, and then I rush to finish reading through my lecture notes. *shakes head* terrible.

Time really flies, though, and I have already finished one semester as a medical student! I just started my 2nd semester yesterday, and you know what? I think it's time for me to make a change! For one, I'm going to have to try not doing everything so last minute! I'm going to have to try to stop living by the concept of if it weren't for "the last minute", nothing would get done. The last 2 minutes, maybe, but not the very last minute xP But hey, even that would be at least an improvement! :S I'll have to walk before I run. Bit by bit, I'll get to the point where I'll at least seem like a medical student to the rest of the world! hahaha

Time to improve! Time to be a better me! Time to make a change! (This is making me think of Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror", and now I have the sudden urge to do a Michael Jackson squeal xD)

Oh! On another note, I'm in full Christmas mode already. That day I even bought a mini Christmas tree to put it somewhere in my unit, at least make it a little bit more Christmassy here when I'm in KL!
Mini Cwithmath Twee!!! :)
It's probably only the length of a span. It is so small that you don't even notice it sitting there on the table. Awwww poor little thing! :((( It's so cute, though xD

I'm looking forward to Christmas!!! CWITHMATHHHHHH!!!!! :D :D :DDDDDD

mwahahahahahahahahahaha...

CF Camp 2012!

Wow I haven't blogged in ages!

Anyway, I went for a camp organised by UCSI's Christian Fellowship over the weekend! It started on Friday, and ended yesterday. It was awesome!!! :D

Since we had class on Friday, we had to go for the camp later than the rest of the campers. Hong Ling and I took a bus from TBS to Melaka Sentral, and mummy and daddy (who were in Melaka) brought us to El Sanctuary, where the camp was held. Thank you daddy and mummy! :)

The camp was really fun, and I was really blessed. I got to know so many new friends, and for some I already knew of before, I got to know them better :) It was a really, really good camp, and I am so glad I went!

There was a campfire the second night, and everyone stood around it, and we all sang some familiar songs (mostly Sunday School songs :D). It was really fun, and I couldn't help but think of how amazing God is, and how because of Him, everyone can come together as one in His name, singing praises to our God.

Singing around the campfire! :D
At camp, we were all divided into groups, and I am proud to say that my group was awesome! haha we got 2nd place overall, but that's only because we gave the group that got 1st place "discount" ;P
Group I M Possible! :D
l-r (top): Nicholas, Keng Cheng, Precious, Mavin, me, Leng Li
(bottom): Kenneth, Germaine
One thing I really thank God for is how He protected every single one of us throughout the camp. Nobody was seriously injured, and though I'm sure some young people that seem to be trapped in old people bodies (like me) have aches all over, nothing serious happened to anybody. hahaha seriously, though, my legs are aching! They're scolding me for never bothering to warm up before doing anything! x)

One of my group members, Precious (I love her name, by the way! :D), was actually hit on her chest by a volleyball when we were playing captain ball. She fell down, and suddenly just went unconscious! I stood there feeling helpless, not knowing what to do, wishing I wasn't only just a year 1 medical student, and actually knew what I could do! Thank God, though, nothing actually needed to be done. Everybody that was there were praying for her and a few of us were fanning her. Someone got her legs elevated. After some time, she just woke up and said that she was okay. She even asked about the captain ball game, and said she wanted to play and win the game! God is good. Thank You, Lord, for your protection! :)

During camp, there was also the Secret Angel thing. My angel was so sweet! hahaha the first thing she sent my way was a note with a packet of junk food, as though I'm not fat enough xDDD All her notes were so sweet and so cute, though! She even sent somebody to give me a massage after a long day of games! I felt a bit bad I managed to guess who my guardian angel was even before it was revealed to me, though!
With Joellene, my "guardian angel" :)
My mortal was Paul, and I dare say I kept the secret pretty well because he guessed his secret angel was Billy (whose photo will show up later on this post)! I actually thought he would guessed Ruby or Hong Ling to be his secret angel, but I guess I'm better at this secret angel thing than I thought! xD

With Paul, my "mortal" :)
Hahaha, I just realised you can hardly see our eyes in this photo! Apalah mata orang Cina xD

Some of the CFers will be graduating soon, so we won't really get to see them after that :( We did take the chance to take photos with them during the camp :)

Regina!!! :)
Billy :)
Yolanda! We are STRONGGGG!!! :D
I didn't actually take many photographs this camp because there were so many pro-pro photographers running all over with their dSLRs! :D So cool! hahahaha

I did get some photos with some friends, though :) I think this was the first year any UCSI medical student went for the CF Camp, so YAY to the four of us (Ruby, Hong Ling, Ann and I!) =D

Rubyyyyy!!! She said we HAD to take a photo together because she currently has shorter hair than I do!
Hong Linggggg!!! I'm so glad she went for the CF Camp!!! :D
Annnnnn!!!! haha somebody got our names mixed up x)
I was in the same group as Germaine, and seriously! I have sooooo many pictures of her self-portraits in my camera! This is actually one of the very few photos of her in my camera that wasn't taking by she herself! haha
Germaine! The syiok sendiri one xD
l-r: Me, Jia Tee, Ruby, Germaine
l-r: Me, Hong Ling, Priscillia
Ooh! And Hong Ling drew something for me, on pieces of paper from an evangelistic tool thing we learnt! xD
Thanks Hong Ling!!! :D
I'm sure that's not part of how to evangelise, but oh well!

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Everybody's looking forward to the weekend, weekend xD

Yes, the title of this post is from the lyrics of Rebecca Black's Friday. Deal with it! :P

So, anywayyyy, I headed as soon as I could on Friday and I had quite a nice weekend :) Friday night, I met up with some friends I hadn't talked to in some time.
l-r: Hui Yee, Evonne, me, Melvina, Zi Xin, Eunice, Janie, Felicia, Jing Yee
Yeah yeah, we jakun people tak pernah nampak candles :P
It was fun seeing some I hadn't seen in ages, especially Eunice! She's my ah chor (x1000000000) ma, my ancestor from when I still saw her every Sunday in church xD Awww my dear ancestor has started working! *single tear* I'm so proud of my ah chor (x1000000000) ma! haha

With the great ancestor! Ah chor (x1000000000) ma! :D
On Saturday, daddy, mummy, niko and I went into Singapore. My poor koko has been working like a dog all day, everyday :( At least he didn't have to go to the hospital while we were there :) We celebrated my cousin Ming Ming's birthday over a buffet lunch in Furama (or something like that) xD

The birthday girl! :)
Oh-man-da and Ning-Ning x)
Oh, and if you read the captions, the photo on top of this says Oh-man-da and Ning-Ning. These nicknames actually came from our cousin Jayne when she was a lot younger, and she couldn't pronounce the names "Amanda" and "Ming Ming". So, instead, she would go "Oh-man-da" and "Ning-Ning". So cute! She's the baby of the family. Even now, all grown up, she's still our cute little Jayne-Jayne :D
Mummy and I with the birthday girl
Top l-r: Aunty Susan, Ah Yee Lee Hua, Ah Yee Teng2, me, Debbie, Gracie
Bottom l-r: Faith, mummy, Ming2, Joyce
The family with the birthday girl :)
Of course, no celebration is complete without girls acting cute, no? (Actually, no xD) Anyway, Joyce brought an orange hair clip in the shape of a bow, and she put it on niko's hair. This crazy bunch of people then decided to act cute for the camera xD I have to say, they're act cute can jadi leh!
Act cute? Memang cute? Crazy bunch of people?
mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha... Buh-bye, people!!!

New Phase of My Life! :)

Hey guys!!!

I'm back in UCSI! I started my orientation for med school last week, and the orientation lasted a whole week! There was even a camp over the weekend, for us (the newbies) and our Year 2 seniors. The camp was actually really fun, so much more fun than I expected it to be!

Classes started today, and so far so good :)

My class now has students from both Foundation in Science and A-levels, and so it's quite fun, and I think the whole class is full of really interesting people, all so fun to be with! I would say this new phase of my life is starting out really nicely, and I really thank God for that. I didn't know what to expect coming here!

Of course, even with the new, we never forget the old. Today, my ex-housemates and I went out together  for lunch after we were done with our classes. We ate at a place called Village Park in Damansara Utama, where they had really nice nasi lemak. It was RM 8.00 per plate, though, so you really can't expect it to be anything bad!
l-r: Felicia, Karen, Niki, Hong Ling

Thanks to Niki for taking this picture! :)

Nasi lemakkkk!!! With ayam goreng :D

I saw somewhere on the wall in Village Park the nasi lemak there won the Best Nasi Lemak in Klang Valley or something to that effect in 2010, and I saw from some photographs there that some big-big people have eaten there!

Hong Ling was so nice, she drove all of us all the way to makan at the place, and then to her house (which is very near Village Park), and then she drove us all the way back to Cheras again! And on the way back, near UCSI, there was quite a lot of commotion because of an accident. So many kepoh people just parked their cars all over, just to see what had happened.

Being the good road-users that we are, though, we did no such thing. In fact, we were even talking about how the kepoh people were making the roads all jammed up! Of course, the Malaysian-ness coursing through our veins couldn't allow us to just walk away not knowing what the commotion was about xD

So, we ended up practising the very Malaysian kepoh culture, but of course, we parked nicely, out of the way, and walked to the big longkang everyone was gathering around. We kept going "I can't believe we're really doing this!" and "We seriously going there ar?".

At one point, we were talking about what we were going to say if someone we knew saw us and wanted to know what we were doing, and we came up with, "Oh, we're just walking to UCSI." haha walking to UCSI konon! Our classes had already ended hours ago! hahaha

Our kepoh-ness was satisfied when we saw the Waja in the longkang, with its windshield cracked but thankfully not shattered or broken to pieces. The front part of the car and the bumper wasn't as badly damaged as I would have expected it to be, seeing as the car probably broke the drain railing and fell into the big drain! The front door on the driver's side was opened, so I assume the driver was taken out from the car and brought to the hospital. I wanted to take my camera out to take a photo, but decided against it. Hong Ling took a picture of it, though!

I think I'll have to get it from her someday! It's proof of our kepoh-ness!

mwahahahahahahahahahahaha...

God Has A Plan For My Life :)

I. Got. In.

I got accepted into UCSI's med school!

Thank You, Lord, for I know it is by Your grace and because of Your tremendous blessings that I made it. Thank You for showing me once again that this is what You want me to do with my life. I want to bring glory and honour to Your name, in every step of my life, in every thing that I do. Thank You, for I know You have a plan for my life, the perfect plan for me, a plan just for me, a plan that will prosper me. Help me to always put my trust in You, to always know that You are in control. I'm Yours, and I'm so grateful for that. Thank You, for because of what was done on the cross, I am greatly blessed, highly favoured, deeply loved. I love You, Lord! And I know that You love me even more! Wowwwwwww :D

Not everyone got good news, though, and that's bringing my excitement about making it into med school down quite a few levels :( But to my friends who didn't get good news (some are in the waiting list, some got rejected) today, I'm praying for you guys! God has a plan for You, so just trust in Him! All the best!

Though I really really really really hope all my friends get into med school with me (I want my friends with me, or med school won't be as much fun for me! Is that selfish? :S), coming to UCSI might not be what God has planned for them, maybe God has even better plans for them. Either way, I will keep praying for them! :)
