Interview!

Hey guys!

I'll be going to KL later today. I was short-listed for the Axiata Scholarship interview, so please do pray for me! I really have no idea as to how the interview will be like, but according to the letter I received, the interview will be from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and this to me sounds scary enough xD

A whole-day-long interview? haha, I guess I'll just have to wait and find out what's it's like! Oh, and the attire is supposed to be "smart casual" and I don't really know what that means xD So what I'll do is I'll just find something presentable to wear and pray that it isn't too smart or too casual, but just right!

Happy Birthday, Niko!!!!!! =)

Hey guys!!!

So, it's Niko's 21st birthday today!!! :) It is also his first birthday that I (and the rest of the family) won't get to celebrate with him in person :(

Well, anyway, for his 21st birthday, I made a birthday video!!! YAY!!!!!! I'm kind of new to Windows Movie Maker, so although the video didn't come out perfectly, I am proud of it!!! =] I'm just a little bit sad that I can't see Niko's face when he watches the video :(

Anywayyyyyyy...
Niko, HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!! :)

Hope you like the video =D (And even if you don't, please pretend that you do because I really did spend a lot of time on it xD) HAPPY BIRTHDAYYYYYY!!!!!!! :) Hope you have a great birthday and a very very good year ahead. God bless!!! :)

Oh, and also to the other two people I know who share the same birthday as Niko (Aunty Soh Guat and Yeh Shan), HAPPY BIRTHDAYYYY as well :D

JPA Interview!

Hey guys!

This is gonna be a loooonnngggggg post, but it has been a requested one, so here goes :) Hope it is of help to those who haven't gone for their JPA interviews!

So my JPA interview was this morning. It was in UTHM and I was supposed to be there by 7.30 (half an hour before the time of the interview). Each batch of interview is estimated to take around 45 minutes and the first batch starts at 8.00 a.m.. There are 4 panels so that means 4 batches of 5 people each start their interviews at the same time in different locations.

Mine was panel 1, and the first batch of the estimated time of 8.00 - 8.45 a.m.. And since today was the first day of the JPA interviews, I think mine was one of the first of the first of the first!!! xD

Mummy and koko went to UTHM with me and we were one of the first ones to reach there. The guard at the UTHM gate actually told us to just drive straight and the building in front of us was the building where the interview was going to be held. So we just followed his directions and lo and behold, he was wrong =X

There were signs showing that the interview was being held at another building (we had to turn right and the building was oon our right) and so we followed the signs and got there. On the glass doors/wall?/whatever-that-is-called of the building itself were some papers with the names of the people being interviewed today. So what we had to do was to search for my name =D

Mana tu nama Amanda?!?!?

My name was under the panel 1, 8.00-8.45 a.m. batch so all I had to do was to sign there :) Right now I am going to hao lian and say:
I WAS THE FIRST ONE AMONG ALL THE UTHM INTERVIEWEES TO SIGN ON ON THE PAPER!!!!! :D :D :D

hahahaha, I was I was!!! I signed my name before anyone else did this morning and since today was the first day of interviews in UTHM, I can only conclude that I really was the first!!!!! And no, I do not know why I'm so happy and proud about it, but I am and I can't help it xDD

Anywayyyyy, we saw Joshua Ong and his dad there as well so after some chatting and this and that, we all prayed together (more like we were being prayed for =])before Joshua (his interview was the same time as mine, different panel) and I headed into the building.

We went up one floor and were led into a room on the left side of the stairs (the waiting room?), where we had to sign once again on the papers that looked like copies of the ones we had to sign on downstairs. Then we were told to leave our folders of documents on the tables in there. (There were different tables for different panels) In the room I got to know the other girls that were in my group (all the interviewees in my group were girls! GIRL POWERRRR xD)

After some time, we were asked to sign once again on another sheet of paper that once again looked like a copy of the previous papers we had to sign xD We were then given name tags, or more precisely number-tags =.= The numbers were given according to the list. My number was 4 :)

At 8 (I think we started on time), the other 4 girls from my group and myself were led into the interview room. Two ladies and a man (the interviewers) were already sitting in there and we were asked to sit on the chairs in there. The five chairs were arranged in a straight line facing the three interviewers who were sitting behind a row of tables joined together.

My group wasn't asked to introduce ourselves. Instead, one of the interviewers just started reading out our names one by one and we just responded with a nod or a "yes" or a "ya, saya" when we heard our names being called.

The interviewers told us that our interview was going to be held as a group, as in we were given the questions as a group but we were supposed to give our answers individually. We were told that we could discuss if we wanted to. The first question for my group was asked in English. It was something about the characteristics of a good citizen or something like that. I turned to discuss with the others but realised that they had already started jotting some things down using the stationary that they brought with them (oh ya! Bring your own pens and paper, they don't give you anything!) and they didn't show any sign of wanting to discuss anything. So I thought "Oh, well," and took my own pencil and paper out xD (Thank God I brought my own testpad in!)

Meanwhile, the interviewers were expecting an answer and everyone was busy scribbling on their papers so I answered first. Everyone was given a chance to answer that question and the second one too, which was a BM question - something about pandangan anda tentang Wawasan 2020 dan adakah wawasan tersebut akan tercapai - or something like that xD

Starting from the third question, the interviewers more or less chose who to answer their questions. For example, they went "Nombor satu, apakah pandangan anda tentang....." or "Nombor dua, kenapa......". I felt like a dog being called like that xD

Oh! And there was this less formal part where we were asked to ask the names of the others in our group as well as get to know their favourite food xD

Nothing crazy about the full names of our prime ministers or Sultans or anything like that was asked, so I really thank God for that! =)

After the interview, we had to go back to the waiting room to get our documents back. I saw a few other familiar faces there :D I even lent Ah Mei my pen and pencil because she didn't bring anything =.= I donated papers to Jessie, Zhi Wei and Ah Mei too! haha xD Jessie was there sooooo early for her interview xDDDD

All in all the interview was quite an interesting one, borderline fun even xDDD Oh and girls, wear baju kurung!!! Most girls do that! :) And besides, it's awesome if you're the type who feels cold when you're nervous! xD And guys biasalah, wear lah slacks and proper shirt! =D

Oh, and one more thing! Different panels might have different interview styles, so don't be shocked if your interviews aren't like mine!

Thank you God for being with me throughout the interview! =D

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Hey guys!

I went for SU Peninsular Malaysia's 50th anniversary celebration on Saturday and it was awesome! Finally got to see some people I hadn't seen since SUSOM! All the SU staff were looking good in their green batiks (which I think is really useful for camouflaging purposes if they ever need to hide from hunters in jungles xD) Anyway, I thought it was a great celebration :)

Oh, and I was called for the JPA interview and I think mine will be one of the first! It's tomorrow (Tuesday) morning at UTHM. 8 in the morning to be exact (if no Malaysian timing is involved xD). I'm praying everything will go on smoothly :) And being one of the first has it's advantage too! I can get it over with faster and then I won't have to think about it anymore! xD

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

New Toy! :)

Hey guys!

So right now I'm blogging from daddy's office, where I am now sitting in front of....

My new laptop!!!

It's mine it's mine it's mineeeeee!!!!!!! :D :D :D

It's an Acer Aspire 4750G and this is the very first time I'm using it!

So now that I have my own laptop, I no longer have to sit around daddy's and mummy's office doing nothing feeling bored... I HAVE A LAPTOP!!!!! =D

Thanks mum, thanks dad! :)

Oh, and last Saturday I went to Taylor's College with daddy, mummy and koko to make some enquiries and to just check things out...

We were told that if I wanted to join the March intake, I still could, but I'd have to start college on Monday!!!

So it was supposed to be like this:
Saturday - Find out about March intake
Sunday - Register
Monday - Start college

Doesn't that sound crazy? I mean, who does that?!?!?!?

Well, I almost did! But I didn't (obviously, or I wouldn't be sitting in daddy's office right now xD) because... well, just because!

Anyway, I'm still not too sure abut what I want to study in the future and this and that, but I know that God has a plan for me. A good plan. An awesome plan. So I'm not too scared about it, I'm praying about it =)

Oh, and I've FINALLY dragged my lazy backside to driving lessons (more like mummy has finally managed to make me start)!

My third lesson is today!

So far I've managed to mati enjin a few times, but then again, what are driving lessons without mati enjin-ing at least a few times right? Right! haha!

Oh, and just so you guys know, the driving instructor said that I drive quite well for a beginner!

And I even managed to discuss badminton with the driving instructor while driving xD

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

God is Awesome!!!

Hey guys!!!

This post was supposed to be done a lot sooner, but I couldn't find the connector for daddy's camera (the one that I've been using a lot xD)

So anyway, I really have A LOT to thank God for recently :)

I mentioned in the post before this that at the time of the blog post, mama was being operated on...

Well, just to clear some things up, my Mama is my maternal grandmother, not my mum :) A lot of people thought that it was my mum being operated on. So I just thought that I should clear this up! My Mama is my maternal grandmother and my Ah Chiah is my paternal grandmother. My mummy is my, well, mummy xD

Thanks to all those who sent me messages of concern about my mama (some thinking it was my mother, but well, it's the thought that counts! =])

Mama in the hospital bed before her operation

Well, mama's surgery was a success and the doctor even said that her bones were really strong, like the bones of a person 15 years younger than her. This is awesome as my mama hates milk and doesn't like anything with milk in it! So anyway, mama is now back in her house and she has already started walking!!! Praise the Lord!!! :D

Then there's the thing about my SPM results. I did quite well, and I know it was all by God's grace. As mummy keeps saying about my results, "This one really all God's grace one! If really by her own work, she cannot get such good results one! You see the amount of work she put in ah, haiyo, really make me worry ah! This girl ah, never study one! All God's grace lah, she can get this type of results!"

Though I hate to admit it, what mummy says is quite true. I didn't really work hard. In fact, compared to the rest of the world, what I studied probably was considered not studying at all! If it were by my own ability, I would've achieved nothing, I would've done very very very badly. Come to think of it, it is kind of scary. But anyway, God is good. He is awesome. If not for Him, I wouldn't have gotten the straight A's that I did. You know what? I serve an awesome God :) No way I could have gotten any results even a bit worth talking about if not for God, but He is good, and he blessed me with straight A's. Thank you, God!!! I am deeply humbled by Your grace.

The straight A's students on stage for a group picture =)

And just in case you're wondering, my straight A's consist of 8 A-pluses and 2 A's. The 2 A's for Sejarah (no surprise there xD) and Biology (a bit of surprise there xS). All 10 A's definitely by God's grace, though :)

It was nice to finally get to take my government exam results the same time as all everyone else! My UPSR results were taken for me by my parents because I wasn't around that day, and my PMR results were taken late in the evening, after everyone had long left the school because that day, my family and I had just arrived in Malaysia from I-can't-remember-where xD

Anyway, it was great seeing the people I hadn't seen for a long time again. In fact, that night, I was ajak-ed out by Shin Lei to meet up with some friends whom I later found out was actually quite a lot of people from the different-different planets in our school xD (The classes in my secondary school are named after planets; I was in 5 Neptune!) I had a great time with everyone who was there (although a lot of other people invited couldn't make it xD I think Shin Lei invited everyone that was in her handphone contact list! haha!)

Oh oh oh!!! And one uninvited (but was very much welcomed by me, but definitely not by the restaurant waitress) guest joined us! Cookie!!! Wendy's very cute sugar glider who actually peed in front of my eyes xD It even looked cute while it peed!!! hahaha, I was sooooo excited I finally had the chance to meet Cookie! :D

l-r: Xin Yue, Wen Qi, me, Ah Mei, Wendy, Shin Lei, Miss Pao Zhi Qing, Nelly, Ruby.

Three days after getting my SPM results, I had to go to school again to get.....money!!! Ka-ching Ka-ching!!! hahaha, it was actually our reward for doing well in our SPM examination.

l-r: Wendy, me, Shin Lei, Wen Qi

Everybody talked most of the time while the teachers tried to quieten us down, but we were just to happy to see each other again and everyone just had to keep talking and chatting and sharing stories and squealing xD

Anyway, after the majlis, daddy, mummy, koko, Ah Chiah (she was around in BP :D) and myself went for a sort-of-celebration xD We went for lunch in Landmark hotel!!! =]

Times like this I miss my Niko (my second brother) especially much =( Well, thank God for Skype! ;)

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Buh-bye, people!!!
P/S: My God loves me, and He loves you too!!! :)
