Europe Trip - Leicester, Loughborough, Newcastle, Scotland

Hey guys!

So picking up where I left off, after Cambridge, we went to Leicester. There, we saw a castle! A real one! :D It was quite late though, and the castle was already closed, so we only managed to take photos outside the castle :S
Kirby Muxloe Castle
l-r: Niko, me, koko, mummy
Ohhh and I just realised I haven't posted any photos of our fridge/freezer we kept using!
The windowsill "fridge/freezer"!
The weather there was so nice and cool that all we had to do was to put the food that were supposed to be refrigerated on the windowsill to keep them chilled! It worked even with frozen food! haha!
Frozen muscles and ice-cream!
We didn't spend much time around Leicester, and after that, we headed towards Loughborough. On the way there, we got to meet up with my Ah Yee Lily and Uncle Ron for a nice Chinese buffet meal :) Chinese buffet, because we were kind of missing Chinese food, and buffet because we can eat. A lot. xD
Mummy and Aunty Lily :)
l-r: Daddy, koko, niko
We didn't really do much or spend much time in Loughborough, nor in Newcastle, before we headed towards Scotland. Before leaving for Scotland, though, we ate in a T.G.I. Friday's restaurant in Newcastle.

The prices there, after conversions, were around the same prices as in the Malaysian T.G.I. Friday's restaurants, which we thought were quite reasonable, especially if compared to the prices of the food in other restaurants in the UK! And and and, the food came in quite big portions! :)
Mummy and Daddy :)

We crossed to Scottish borders and went to Edinburgh for one night before heading to Glasgow :)
You can't see it, you can't feel it, but it was COLD out in the very strong wind!!! x)
The buildings and the roads and the whole feel of Edinburgh was really quite nice :) It was simply beautiful, both in the day and at night!
Somewhere in Edinburgh :)
Kor, open your eyes! xD
When we were in Edinburgh, we managed to meet up with another one of my aunties, who was also there, visiting with some friends.
The family with Ah Yee Lee Khoon
There was this one shopping complex we went to, and after parking the car, we went to look for the door leading us to the shops, and we saw this:
Erm... The shops are... up... the... ladder?
hahaha while the signposting and ladders might not have impressed me much, the views certainly did! I was crossing a road with Niko somewhere in Edinburgh, and we looked up and saw such a nice view we had to stop and take a picture of it xD
We stopped in the middle of the road to get this picture xD
The weather there was also really really nice and cool :) When the wind blew the breeze was awesome, mostly because it made everyone's hair flip so nicely everyone looked like they could film hair commercials! hahaha
I use *flip hair* any random shampoo I can find *flash smile*
Even when the wind didn't blow, the weather was still nice and cool. (I really really miss the weather!!!)
Somewhere near the Edinburgh Castle :)
Oh and of course, we couldn't leave Scotland without taking any lompat shots, so:
Edinburgh Castle LOMPATTT!!!
I just realised, looking through the pictures I took, that we didn't really do much in Glasgow, or rather, I didn't take many photos there. After Glasgow, we said goodbye to Scotland and went to Manchester :) We relied on the map we got of Great Britain a lot, and then I realised that the map was plotting to kill niko! *gasp*
Kilmacolm? Why are you trying to kill Malcolm??? NOOOOO!!!!
mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Buh-bye, people!!!

Europe Trip - Paris and Cambridge

Hey guys!

So here I am finally picking up where I left off, and blogging about the Europe trip =D

So picking up from where I left off, we took a bullet train - Eurostar - from London to Paris. The nerds in us were really excited to be in a high-speed train! And the even bigger nerds in koko, niko and myself kept thinking of Mr Ong and his Physics tuitions in secondary school xD

It's always one of the first tuition lessons in Form 4, when Mr Ong will teach about motion. In his very cute way, he'll do an action to illustrate "uniform velocity". He'll lift his left arm out horizontally, and he'll sort of fling/wave his right hand in front of his chest, like he's trying to springkle water off his hand. He'll keep doing that while walking sideways towards his left, like he's trying to walk like a crab. Then in a very Mr Ong-ly manner, he'll say something like, "Wooooooo... Five metres per second, five metres per second. Woooooo... Five metres per second, five metres per second." Hahahahaha! And then his voice will get higher for "acceleration", and lower for "decceleration". I really don't know how to explain all these in words, but every student who has studied under Mr Ong for Physics would understand! hahaha

Anywayyyyyy, away from nerdology, and back to my holidayyyy! :) Since there were tables in the train, and koko brought decks of cards with him, we played gin rummy! =D
Train-glass-reflection family picture! :)
It was actually quite interesting to see the contrast between London and Paris. Even from inside the train, we could see the differences, the main one being GRAFFITI! Paris was fully of graffiti and other drawings all over, some of which were quite interesting, like this one drawn on a "No entry" sign:
The man trying to lift the bar up!
I thought that one was really cute and original, but then some time after that, we saw another one, even more hebat than that one! Or maybe it was the same one, upgraded xD
Wings! It grew wings! And there's a small dude on the back tyre of the bicycle xD
While I didn't really appreciate how little French people smile, I have to admit that the buildings there were really really pretty :) We even got to see Notre Dame! We tried looking for Quasimodo, but nah-uh, no luck xP
Notre Dame lompat!
I think maybe Quasimodo was a bit shy because there were so many people there. Hahaha trust us to find a fictional Disney character in a real place xD
Notre Dame family photo! :)
Of course, we couldn't go all the way to Paris and not see the Eiffel Tower, so we did! And between the 3 of us, we tried to make 3 more shorter Eiffel Towers xD
The Eiffel Tower LOMPATTTTT!!!!!! :D
The Eiffel Tower lompat is my personal favourite so far x)

Walking around that area, I was really surprised to see so many different couples and their photographers taking their wedding photos! There they were, posing in the cold weather, wearing whatever they were wearing! Some were even walking around in wedding dresses! I guess they think it's worth it, though, getting wedding pictures with some nice views. Every time I saw couples having their wedding photos taken, though, I had to resist the urge to run up to them while waving wildly, and applauding them. Ahh the random urges xD
Worth getting a cold over? Hmmm...
Eiffel Tower family photo :)
Oh, and we bought a box of macarons to try too! Final assessment: far too sweet to be eaten on a daily basis. Or anything close to a daily basis =.= They were quite nice to nibble on, though! :)
Macarons! Nom nom nom
Also, as I mentioned at the end of my last post, DISNEYLAND!!!!! One can never ever be too old for Disneyland! :D The day we chose to go there, though, was a National public holiday there, so there were a lot of people there :S
Disneyland Paris
Yayyyy!!! It was a fun place to visit, but it is definitely too big a place to finish in one day, especially with so many other people around!
Disneyland lompat! :D
One thing that was really cute was seeing so many little girls wearing the costumes of all the different Disney princesses x)
Mommy! My prince is waiting for me! He's that way!
Oh, we also saw a pink Disney palace! Did I mention that I live there? Yup, that's my house! I'm not one to brag, though, so I've been keeping it quite low profile :P (hahaha syiok sendiri xD)
Niko, dad, mum and koko with my palace in the background
Tadaa! My palace x)
Wait! Something's not right. It's pink! Oh no!!! The painter got the colours all wrong! I didn't ask my painter to repaint my castle pink! Pink is a terrible colour! I specifically told my painter FUCHSIA COLOUR!!! This is unacceptable! That's it! I'm going to demand a refund and I'm going to fire that painter of mine! Tsk tsk tsk such incompetence! (Still syiok sendiri, lol xD)

After Paris, we went back across the border, and we went to Cambridge. That was nice because we got to meet up with Joshua and Uncle Teik Choon's family :) Joshua showed us around his campus and places aroud there, as well as told us which grass we could step on and which we weren't supposed to. Apparently even grass is divided into first class and second class, and only fellows are allowed to step on the "respectable grass" xD hahahaha!
l-r: me, mum, dad, Josh, kor
To my inexperienced eyes, the "respectable" grass and the grass that can be stepped on all looked exactly the same. I even wanted to try stepping on the grass not to be stepped on, just to see what would happen. But then I thought that I better not, or I might get Joshua kicked out of Cambridge xD
l-r: me, mum, niko, Josh, kor
Cambridge put-camera-on-bridge-and-set-timer group photo! x)
We also visited one of mummy's ex-students and his family :) They were really nice and even prepared us a whole big meal of Chinese food, anticipating that we would miss food we usually eat back home!
l-r: me, mummy, Aunty Mei, Uncle Teik Choon, dad, kor
After Cambridge, we went to Leicester. I'm leaving that till the next post! :)

Okay, and just for fun, here are 2 photos. One has "respectable" grass, and one has "normal" grass. I THINK I remember which is which, but I'm not too sure xDDD
Mum and myself in front grass that can be stepped on (I think) xD
Koko and "respectable" grass (I think) xD
mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Holiday mini-update!

Hey guys!!!

I've been trying to update my blog, but Picasa hasn't been my friend :( All my effort has been going down the drain and all my hard work, wastedddddd!!!! *in over-dramatic voice* NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Anywayyyyy, I'll probably try to get the photos and updates re-posted up when I can. Why? Because I won't give up! I refuse to lose to technology! I refuse to be inferior to Picasa! I REFUSEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! I shall reign supremeeeeeee!!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Ohhh random thought. I've been seeing a lot of sheep and cows lately! Okay, mooooooooving on... Ahhhhaaaaahahahahahahahahahahaha get it get it? Cows? Mooooooooo...ving on? Hhhhhhaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahhhhhhhaaaaaaa (syiok sendiri moment)

Hahaha sorry I've been following Britain's Got Talent these few days and I think it's been getting to me xD I think a comedian Gatis Kandis should have gotten into the finals. Why? Because he's just lame enough to be funny! I'm always all for lame jokes! And in case you have no idea what or who I'm talking about, it's this guy:
He made it through the auditions, into the semi finals, where he did:

Hahahahahaha I thought he was awesomely lame xD Oh, and I'm not sure if you guys can watch the videos up there because they're the UK version. Since I'm now in UK, I can't link the international version, so if you can't watch the videos I linked up there, you might want to just YouTube him x)

Okay, okay, lame jokes aside, really really mooooooving on (sorry, couldn't resist xD), I'm now in Manchester! We're leaving for Birmingham tomorrow (well, today, since it's past midnight here now), and after that, to Heathrow, and after that, we're heading back home. Wow, time really flies!

I have to admit, though, in terms of my application into med school and the interview that will have to come along with it, I am relieved to be going back to Malaysia. I'm starting to think I'm the only one who still has no clue about when my interview is! That's making me check my e-mail every chance I can, and it's making me a little bit jittery :S At least if I'm back in Malaysia, I can keep calling in about it, and maybe irritate them into giving me my interview date xD

Well, on a happier note, I'm having a great time with the family!!! :)

mwahahahahahahahaha...
