YF Committee Retreat 2008

Hello!!!

I just came back from Port Dickson today...

We were there in a place called NUBE for the weekend...

There, we (YF committee) had our annual committee retreat...

On Friday though, daddy, mummy and I went up to KL...

Because daddy had a meeting...

So, I didn't travel to PD with the rest of them...

Instead, daddy and mummy brought me there themselves...

The group left Batu Pahat at around 9.30 a.m...

Which is the same time we left KL...

According to daddy, we would reach PD earlier than the rest of the committee members and 3 advisers...

So, when we reached PD, we didn't go straight to NUBE...

Instead, we went to look for... FOOD!!!

mwahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

We found a Chinese makan place where they sold chicken rice, curry mee and some other stuff...

So we ate there...

The food was quite cacat - the chicken tasted off...

When we were there, I sms-ed koko Sern Wang and he told me that they were still at Jasin...

That was about 11 a.m....

After eating, since daddy and mummy wanted to have a look at NUBE, and we were still earlier than the rest, we headed to NUBE...

Mummy with NUBE logo

There, we saw the manager, Uncle Wan Sia, who was also previously from Batu Pahat...

He then showed us around NUBE...

Not long after we reached NUBE, I got a call from koko Sern Wang...

His car had some problems and was in smokes...

So, he had to call someone to tow it back to BP and all of them had to squeeze into 2 cars to PD from around Malacca...

And he told me that they would be later than expected...

Daddy asked him whether he should go and fetch them, but koko Sern Wang said it was ok, and that they could squeeze into 2 cars =]

While we were looking at a 2-rooms chalet, I got a call from Joanna pula...

She told me that they all had stopped somewhere near a toll or something and that they would be even later...

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Anyway, after looking at the whole of NUBE, they were still not there...

So, Uncle Wan Sia invited mummy, daddy and I into his office...

There, koko Sern Wang told me that 5 other people were with him and that the rest of the people were in Kai Ling Jie's car...

He also said that the 6 of them were waiting for the people to come to tow his car back and the others were going to NUBE first...

So, daddy, mummy and I had told the caterers to prepare the food later...

And then we found out that they sold food ala carte there as well, so guess where we went...

Yup, for more FOOD!!!

mwahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Me
PEACE!!!

Daddy the poser XD
Daddy the poser =]

Anyway, while we were eating, an MPV drove into the NUBE car park...

It wasn't Kai Ling Jie's usual Myvi, so I wasn't that sure whether it was them...

Then, one of the back doors opened and people started tumbling out of the car!!!

First to tumble out of the car was Evonne, followed by Joanna...

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

I then knew it was them and rushed towards the car to greet them...

When I reached the car, the 5 people from the middle row of the vehicle was already out...

So, I was in time to see them letting the people from the last row out...

Actually, Jayn sorta tumbled out too, sitting on the floor of the car terbalik first...

wakakakakakakakakakakakakaka...

Anyway, we had lunch first...

There was this one dish of raw cucumber and long beans, and also some leaves or something O.O

And Wan Ni seemed to enjoy that dish a lot...

eew... hahaha...

She was nicknamed the rabbit because of that...

mwahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Anyway, jie-jie Ee Hsin's small, cute, little Myvi came into sight after that...

6 people came out from that car, namely, koko Sern Wang, jie-jie Ee Hsin, Joshua, Gabriel, Jason and Derrick...

Oh, forgot to tell you guys...

There were 11 people in Kai Ling jie's car...

4 in the last row; 5 in the middle row, one beside the driver and the driver (Kai Ling jie) herself...

The 11 of them are: Kai Ling jie, Jonathan, Esther Kam, Ling Ching, Evonne, Joanna, Matthew, Jayn, Melvina, Wan Ni and Xin Pei...

wakakakakakakakakakakakakakaka...

They 6 that came later then had their lunch...

And our table were talking among ourselves, saying that they probably wouldn't eat their "leaves"...

And that maybe they'd have to "import" our rabbit...

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Before I knew it, the rabbit from our table was at the next table...

Sitting beside Gabriel, who apparently was another person that enjoyed the leafy dish and was nicknamed the hare after that...

wakakakakakakakakakakaka...

I noticed that Wan Ni preferred the leaves and Gabriel preferred the cucumber and long beans...

So together, they were the SUPER-VEGE-EATING-PEOPLE!!!

mwahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Anyway, after that, we went into our chalets...

The girls took the 3-rooms chalet, while the guys got the 2-rooms chalet...

What to do? Girls more mah :P

Anyway, after that, we gathered in the living room of the girls' chalet...

During that time...
Goggles... what is that?!?
Koko Sern Wang as a fish with goggles and an antenna?!?!?

mwahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Anyway, after that, we had our personal reflection time...

By that time, it was already around 3 p.m....

hahahahahahaha =]

During the personal reflection time, we were supposed to answer 3 questions on a passage from the Bible followed by 135 questions about ourselves...

The questions were supposed to help us find out more about which bidang we are more sesuai in...

The 135 questions were mostly ok, but there were some parts that I thought were not that suitable for us...

But overall, it was kinda cool =]

After that, it was relax time for us...

Here are some photos:
2 here, 2 there...
2 look here, 2 look there

Actually, Jie-jie Ee Hsin, Derrick, Melvina, Evonne and I went to the beach later than the others...

I didn't know that all the others (except Kai Ling jie, who was sleeping =.=) went to the beach already...

Well, I knew some of them were going, but not all of them...

Anyway, after some time, I was surprised that everyone else were no longer in the chalet, except the 4 people around me and Kai Ling jie, who was sleeping...

And then, they said that it was really hot outside...

So I agreed with them that we would go out later, when it wasn't so hot anymore...

So we had fun there...

Playing, laughing, discovering my musical talent while I was playing my new favourite instrument, the Taboo beeper...

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Oh, and while we were playing the cards that I brought, koko Sern Wang's phone rang...

He left it there when he went to the beach...

It was his girlfriend...

At first we asked jie-jie Ee Hsin to answer, and then they said that later koko Sern Wang's girlfriend misunderstand pula...

So push here, push there, in the end, I pula answered the phone...

wakakakakakakakakakaka...

So cacat =P

I was laughing all through the phone call, and she must think my natural voice is weird and crazy-sounding...

mwahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Anyway, after getting bored of the cards, we went to the beach...

The picture earlier on was taken when we were climbing down the steps to the beach...

I waited there until they were lower than I was, and asked all of them to turn around to face me...

Jie-jie Ee Hsin and Melvina immediately turned around and posed; while Derrick and Evonne tried as hard as they could to get our of the picture...

wakakakakakakakakakaka...

On the beach, I took some more pictures:
Jie2 Ee Hsin and I
Jie-jie Ee Hsin and I

After that, Melvina and Jie-jie Ee Hsin decided to go ahead and get wet...

Derrick, Evonne and I stayed back...

I actually wanted to go play with the others out in the sea, but it was kinda late already...

And so I thought that there wasn't any point in getting all my clothes wet for just a little bit of fun in the water...

So, instead, Derrick, Evonne and I spent our time on the beach...

Evonne and I
Evonne and I

Evonne... Derrick...?!?!?
Evonne and Derrick

They don't know I took that picture, but personally, I like it =]

In the end, the three of us became the caretaker of electronic stuff as well as slippers...

I wanna be free...
The blue pair belongs to Melvina, the red pair to Jie-jie Ee Hsin

Seems like Jie-jie Ee Hsin's slipper wanted some freedom >.< Far, far away...
Freedom, freedom, FREEDOM!!!

Sadly, the slipper didn't get the freedom it wanted =(

Instead, it was used to build a tower of slippers together with the slippers of the others...

Oohh!!! Derrick and Evonne...
Derrick and Evonne hard at work, building the tower of slippers

Tower of slippers =]
One of the stronger slipper towers we built =P

Actually, Derrick did most of the work...

And I did the least...

mwahahahahahahahaha...

I was busy taking photos XD

Sun, water, reflection
Sun, water, waves... God made it all!!!

When the rest of the people came back for their slippers, they totally destroyed the slipper tower, though >.<
Destroying the tower of slippers =(
The slipper tower... DESTROYED!!! T.T

After destroying the slipper tower, we took a group photo...

The dripping wet ones and the dry ones together...

Who's who?
Guess who's who?!?!?

mwahahahahahahahahahaha...

Look here and smile!!!
Look up and SMILE!!!

I climbed up the steps as fast as I could, and shouted for them to look at me and smile, and they did :)

Later that night, we had dinner and discussion after that...

Seriously fishy!!!
Seriously fishy!!!

Koko Sern Wang helping us get the fish meat...

So serious =.=

Thanks koko Sern Wang!!!

All at one corner
All squeezing into the living room...

Derrick, what's with that weird face?!?!?!?

wakakakakakakakakaka...

The discussion went on until 11 something...

The next morning, the discussion continued...

And the new list of committee was out:
President : Gabriel Kuo
Vice-President : Joshua Teng
Treasurer : Teo Wan Ni and Evonne Tong
Secretary : Joanna Chun
Vice-Secretary : Jonathan So
Publicity : Kek Ling Ching and Esther Kam
Resource Manager : Wee Xin Pei
Prayer Coordinator : Gabriel Kuo
Worship Coordinator : Joshua Teng
Games Coordinator : Edrik Ivung and Jerrel Boo
Quarter Master : Jason Ng
Group Leaders : Amanda Chong, Wu Chui Jayn and Derrick Lee

After that, we had our lunch...

Our last meal there...

And for some odd reason, koko Sern Wang called it "Our Last Supper"

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

After my asking loads and loads of times, we took a group picture with all of us in it:
Group photo!!!
The metal food thing is a really good stand!!!

We also took one with the NUBE logo...

Koko Sern Wang, however, is not in the picture, he's the one taking the picture...

Thanks again, koko Sern Wang!!!

All but one...
All but Koko Sern Wang

After that, it was time for us to go home...

Actually, it was time for them to go home...

Daddy and mummy were to come and get 4 of us, namely Matthew Goh, Jayn, Xin Pei and I...

So that the rest didn't have to be packed like sardines...

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Before they left, I managed to get a few more shots:
Me and Ling Ching
Me, Ling Ching

Leavin'?!?!?
Leavin'?!?!?!? lol XD

The first car to leave
The first car to leave

The Myvi
Second car to leave

After they left, the parking lot was so empty, so depressing...

It made me think of all the good times we had together =(

mwahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Actually, it didn't...

But I thought that line would sound nice there...

wakakakakakakakakaka...

Empty parking lot
The empty parking lot

And then there were 4...

Jie-jie Ee Hsin was smart enough to let us borrow her Taboo game set before they left...

Matthew with Beeper
Matthew with Beeper

Hey!!!

That's my musical instrument!!!

mwahahahahahahahahahaha...

I taught Matthew a few of my "beeper rhythms"...

wakakakakakakakakaka...

All I can say is that he is a fast learner, but I'm still his master =]

Anyway, we sat down and stared at the Taboo box, all of us not knowing how to play it...

I've only played it once, but I forgot how to...

mwahahahahahahahahahaha...

So we just took out a stack of the Taboo cards each, and played it as we liked...

Together, the four of us:
Matthew Goh
Matthew Goh,

I take u, u take me =P
Xin Pei,

Me with Jayn
Jayn and I...

had fun playing Taboo our own way while waiting for daddy and mummy to come...

Finally, when they did arrive, Jayn and I were having stomachaches already...

Who said that laughter is the best medicine?

It gave both of us stomachaches!!!

mwahahahahahahahahahaha...

Buh-bye, people!!!
PS: I actually have more photos, but sorry, these are only a few of them =] I put some more here

Motorcycles!!!

Hey guys!!!

Yup, I'm back from Vietnam...

Actually, I did come back on the 20th, as I said in the earlier post...

I was right!!!

mwahahahahahahahahahaha...

Vietnam was OK...

Somebody told mummy that Ho Chi Minh city (where we went) is like KL...

But after going there, I have to say...

It's a LOT different...

Firstly, there is the whole motorcycle thing...

I only have one word to describe it, and that is:

SCARY!!!!!!!!!!

wakakakakakakakakaka...

Seriously, you can't cross feeling safe...

I mean, the motorbikes are EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!

And in Malaysia we always say that Kancils and motorbikes are the kings of the roads?

Use motorbikes and Kancils sure don't need to worry about traffic jams, right?!?!?!?

Not there!!!

The motorbikes FORM UP THE TRAFFIC JAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So scary!!!

mwahahahahahahahahaha...

Mummy says that the motorcycles are like ants...

wakakakakakakakakakaka...

And not only that...

Other than having too much (yes, MUCH, not MANY) motorcycles...

They all, as daddy puts it, "bo zheng hu"...

It means "no government" in Hokkien...

mwahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

For instance, there is a crossroad...

With motorcycles coming from 4 different directions...

And right in the middle of the crossroad, will be motorcycles that are stuck there, elak-ing other motorcycles, stopping, blowing their horns at nothing and everything, turning left right in front of a no-left-turn sign, U-turning, and every other thing you can think of...

Which means...

It's CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wakakakakakakakakakakakakaka...

And I haven't talked about crossing the roads there yet!!!

It's even scarier...

Especially if you are crossing the road with one very lousy Vietnamese tour guide, and 3 old ladies (2 of them are my grannies =P)...

There will be motorcyclists honking at you, some trying to brake and NOT knock you down after going quite fast and a whole bunch, whole row of motorbikes moving fast towards you just to name a few...

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Sorry, but the photos that I took are still in mummy's camera...

But I found a photo online just to let you guys see how it's like...

Motorcycles in Ho Chi Minh City!!!

wakakakakakakakakaka...

And even this is OK only...

I have a few shots of more of them in mummy's camera...

mwahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

You guys may notice that some of them wear masks...

Well, to tell you the truth, it is one of the first things I noticed about the motorcyclists...

And until now, I don't know for sure why they wear those masks...

Daddy suggested that maybe it was because of the dust?!?!?!?

Well, I'm not sure...

Any ideas, anyone?!?!?!?!?

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Buh-bye, people!!!

Off to Vietnam!!!

Hey guys!!!

I just finished packing a whole roller bag full of clothes...

mwahahahahahahahahahaha...

I'll be going to Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City) with mummy, daddy and both my grandmothers...

As I said to mummy...

Daddy, mummy and I are like the mains...

And we mains are bringing our mothers...

And my mother just happen to be a main herself...

wakakakakakakakakakakakakakaka...

Actually, my paternal grandmother (my ah chiah) is already here in Batu Pahat...

She's watching TV downstairs =]

Mummy, daddy, ah chiah and I are supposed to be at Pelican Hotel at 12.30 a.m...

From there we will take a bus or something to don't-know-where to don't-know-where to don't-know-how-many-wheres...

I'll just follow whatever my parents say and where ever they go...

mwahahahahahahahahahaha...

Where does that leave my maternal grandmother (my mama), I hear you say?

Well, the bus or something will bring us to JB at 3 a.m...

And there, we will meet up with my mama and some other people, I'm guessing...

Anyway, we will then go to Singapore...

We are estimated to reach the airport at about 5 a.m...

And there, we will check in and wait and wait and wait...

Until 7.30 a.m...

And that is when we board the plane...

Well, at least that's what I've been told...

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

I'll be back on the 20th...

You know what?

I think this is when my training to become "Ms. Owl" pays off =P

Wait, actually, not really...

I'd probably be sleeping from here to there to everywhere...

wakakakakakakakakakakaka...

Oh, ya...

To all the SPM candidates, again...

Jia you!!!

At least after these, you guys will be free!!!

Ok, I'm off!!!

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Buh-bye, people!!!

But thought I'd give it a shot...

Anyway...

Live through the exam, and after that you're free!!! (hmphh, not fair =.=)

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Buh-bye, people!!!

Vitas - Opera no. 2

Hey guys...

That day niko showed koko and I two videos, and I thought I'd share them with you guys...

The first one is a really skillful guy called Vitas...

Watch the video...

And listen too...

His vocal range is...

CRAZY!!!!!!!!!

So cool!!!

Here it is, Vitas - Opera no. 2:

How is it?!?!?!?!?!?

Try singing that high =P

Ok, the next video...

It's a parody of the first one...

By a Taiwanese guy...

A cacat one, if I may add...

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

It's kinda funny though:

wakakakakakakakakakakakaka...

I like his spectacles...

Oh, ya...

Don't see this guy so cacat...

HE ALSO CAN REACH THE ULTRA-HIGH NOTES!!!

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Buh-bye, people!!!

Last day in school as a form 3 student!!!

Blok Tanjung, where the form 3 classrooms were this year

Hi guys!!!

Ms. Owl went to school today =.=

mwahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Anyway, for our school, today was the last day of school for this year for the form 3 students (that's me!!!)...

And so, we had a "Majilis Penutupan Program Lepas PMR 2008"...

Held in the dewan makan asrama in our school...

All the form 3 students that were present had to just sit there for the whole day, even though the majlis actually started at around 11.30...

Biasalah, what to do?!?!?!?!?

wakakakakakakakakakakaka...

Before the majlis penutupan started, we were asked to sit with our classmates...

And so we did...

I was the only Chinese at our table because Michelle and I were the only two Chinese students in our class that was present, and Michelle pula was nowhere in sight...

I fitted in quite well also lah, seeing that I was wearing my baju kurung today...

mwahahahahahahahahahaha...

Only thing missing is a tudung on my head =P

Oh, ya...

I also went over to the 3 Zuhrah table and managed to take a few pictures before anything really happened:
Anlynn the mongrel and me the panda =]

E-Chuen!!! and I

One more thing...

I saw this on a door also...

It was on a door, in the dewan makan asrama, where the pupils living in the asrama ate, in my school...

And it was:
A COCKROACH!!!!!

My friends were asking me to kill it, I pula walk over there and took pictures of it...

mwahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

After I went back to my class table pula...

Michelle already appeared pula...

I caught her making a weird pose, like she was thinking of her boyfriend or something?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Thinking of you (maybe lah =P)

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

After that, we were given word searches to do...

And after that, a group of people suddenly appeared...

They were to teach the Malays some basic Chinese...

wakakakakakakakakakakakaka...

The group that came

The teacher that taught Chinese

I managed to get some videos too...

Of some of my schoolmates speaking Chinese...

The way they speak Chinese is just soooo cute!!!

wakakakakakakakakaka...

I actually took a LOT of videos, but very huge files, and I'm lazy to make it smaller, so I'll just put the smaller ones...

My classmate Faezatul pronouncing the "O"s:

My conversation with Faezatul (from paper):

I actually said one wrong word somewhere in there...

mwahahahahahahahahaha...

Maybe got more than one lah, but don't care loh...

What to do?

My Chinese also not so good mah...

wakakakakakakakakakakaka...

Anyway, some of the other photos I took:

It was going to take up too much space, so I put the pictures in a slide show instead =]

On the way back home from school, I took this picture:
What do you think?

Well, personally, I think it looks kinda scary...

Like a sickly witch trying to scare a small girl or something...

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Maybe my imagination too geng already lah...

wakakakakakakakakakakakaka...

Oh, ya...

Did I mention that the whole family - all 5 of us - is in Malacca?

Well, we are...

And just now, we went to Sir Kim Chew's (from 1st Melaka BB company) shop...

It's called Calanthe Art Cafe...

Situated on Jalan Hang Kasturi, Melaka...

And there is where they have the 13 states' coffees of Malaysia...

They food and drinks there are really good...

Sorry, it was too good until I didn't even get to take pictures...

wakakakakakakakakaka...

Niko ordered a drink called "Ms. L"...

It's a special drink that you are supposed to drink from the bottom to the top every single sip using the straw...

Oh, and the also sell lots of handmade jewelry there...

Sir Kim Chew also brought us to his other shop, also full of handmade jewelry...

The other shop

Sir Km Chew, the owner of both shops

Some of the stuff in the shop:

Even lamps were made by Sir Km Chew!!!

And don't they look nice?!?!?!?!?!?

Must have taken a lot of patience and energy...

I don't think I'll have the patience to make even a necklace =P

mwahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Buh-bye, people!!!
