First Day, First Lecture in UCSI =]

Hey guys!!!

I had my first lecture in UCSI today, my first official day as a student there! :) It was a Moral Studies lecture (of all subjects =.=) and it was from 2-5 pm.

Only two other girls (Karen and Chia Yee) and myself stayed in our new "home" last night while the other three came in this morning itself =D

We walked from our unit to UCSI and I think that was my exercise for the day xD There were sooo many people there for the Moral Studies lecture and it did shock me a little (so jakun!!! xD) My stomach was growling halfway through the lecture (we had bread and my awesome Peter Pan peanut butter for breakfast and we skipped lunch), I was soooo hungry!!!

Anyway, the lecture kind of ended early, and my housemates and I ate at Old Town. It may not be the usual students' choie, but we were really hungry, and that was the second food place we saw (after Georgetown White Coffee =.=)!!! haha

Oh oh oh!!! And while waiting for the lecture to start, I was waiting outside the hall, in front of a room where there were around 5 students and a teacher, and two of the students were playing the flute!!! I was so jealous xD It looked like so much fun! One of my housemates, Hong Ling, and myself were contemplating whether or not to go crash their class, going into their classroom and saying "Oops, sorry, wrong classroom!" just so we could go see what the class is like! haha

There were so many music studios and stuff, making my fingers itch like crazy to touch a piano, even if it was just to play "Chopsticks" or something :( haha! I can just imagine myself sitting in one of the practice rooms, hearing the beautiful music all around me - Mozrt, Lizst, Beethoven - while I sit there at the grand piano, concentrating hard on playing... CHOPSTICKS!!!! Yay!!!!

Speaking about practice rooms, Ruby did ask about them because she wants to practice the piano for her piano exam later this year. Apparently the practice rooms are reserved for the music students in the afternoons, but she can practise there at night if she wants to. So nice, right? I'm planning to tag along when she does go and practise there! =)

Oh, and this is the first time since I got here that I'm using the internet! :) Celcom broadband is my friend now! (It wasn't really my friend just now when it wasn't really working xD) Ooh! And my housemates and I had frozen kiwi fruits just now, thanks to the super low temperature fridge! It tasted good, though xD

Ruby found a 90 cents roti canai place in this condo compound itself. SUPPER!!!! She's going to be my new supper buddy =D

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Buh-bye, people!!!
P.S.: My desk is out to get me! I've scraped my knee on it a million and one times! Ouch :(

Off to the next phase...

Hey guys!!!

As of right now, I am considered a student of UCSI! Registration was this morning and in UCSI itself and I have to say, I am impressed with the place :) I even got to pass by the music studios and so on and they all looked awesome! I wonder if I'm allowed to use those rooms even though I'm not a music student there :S haha

Anyway, first thing we had to do there was register by giving our names to the people-in-charge there. So I queued up for my turn and when it was my turn, the lady who was in charge asked for my name and this happened:
Lady : What's your name?
Me : Amanda Chong.
Lady : *type type type* Your name isn't here.
Me : huhhhh???

Apparently my name wasn't in the system, so I had to write my name and particulars down before I was asked to go into the auditorium. I saw a few familiar faces in there belonging to people from BP :)

I ended up sitting beside a girl from KL, Felicia all throughout the whole programme in the auditorium =) Felicia and myself were both "abandoned people", what we used to refer to the people whose names weren't in the system. There was a whole bunch of us, so at least we didn't feel that bad xD

After the briefings an Q&A sessions and eveything, all of us JPA scholars were brought to where we will be staying throughout our foundation course, which will be 12 months long. Felicia, myself and 4 other "abandoned people" were assigned to the same unit :D

The accomodation is way way wayyyy better than I expected! 6 scholars are assigned to each unit, and each unit has 3 rooms. One master bedroom, one deluxe room and one single room. 3 people share the master bedroom, 2 the deluxe and of course 1 the single =]

I actually drew one of the master bedroom key while the new housemate of mine that was standing beside me drew the single room key. She wasn't too keen on it so I exchanged rooms with her :D Yay! Win-win! =)

All 3 rooms have air-conds! Mwahaha! And yes, they do work!!! That was totally unexpected! I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it :D

On the not-so-up side, though, there goes my freedom, my holidays, my completely beach-bum-like lifestyle, my days of watching the TV the whole day! I start classes this Monday!

I have to change my entire current lifestyle :S

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Buh-bye, people!!!
Thank You, God, for answering yet another one of my prayers! :)

Gotch ya! ;)

Hey guys!!!

On Sunday, after church, daddy, mummy and myself went down to JB. We were to have a celebratory dinner that night with the extended family there :)

When we reached my Ah Yee Lee Hua's house, I used the internet line there to get into the JPA website to finish up everything I was supposed to download and whatnot. I don' t know whether it was the internet connection or what, but it was awesome! Back at home I had to refresh sooooo many times before I could do anything at all on the JPA website.

In my aunty's house, though, all I had to do was click once and I would be where I was trying to access. Well, anyway, when I reached the 5th and final page of my JPA account, there was this line that said something about the dress-code and then there was a link beside it. I clicked it and a blank page except for the words "Gotch ya!;)" came out.

I'm not kidding! It really did that! Right in the middle of a totally serious, no nonsense page there was link to a page with white background and the words Gotch ya!;)in black words at the top left hand corner of the otherwise blank page! Those exact words in those exact spelling with the wink as well!!!

My first reaction to it was "huh?", and then I went "what?" then I went "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

I showed it to daddy, who was sitting beside me and he laughed out loud too xD I went out of the page (I X-ed the page) and clicked the link again and got the same thing! I showed it to mummy, Ah Yee Lee Hua (my aunty) and Ah Teow (my uncle), who were also there, and we all cracked up and started laughing! xD

Mummy said, "At least someone in JPA still has a sense of humour!"

Hahahahahahaha!!! It was so weird and so unexpected, yet so cute at the same time!!! xD

And then yesterday when I tried the page again, I got the correct page telling me I have to dress in formal clothing and so on. I guess somebody finally changed the Gotch ya!;) away! When I saw that the page had been changed, I told mummy and she asked, "To what? A frog leaping out of the page?"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! It would have be very very very awesome if the page was really changed to that!!! LOL!!!

Well, anyway, I had a nice dinner with my maternal extended family on Sunday :)
A group shot of some of the ladies in the family. There are 3 generation of ladies in this picture! =D

To tell you all the truth, though, I NEED ME MY HOLIDAYSSSSS!!!!!!!

I could do well with more time before going off to further my studies!!! I still have a lot of shows I haven't had the chance to watch!!! Oh, and I haven't even started packing!!! Oops!

On the other hand, I'm starting college!!! University? University college? What is it I'm starting again?!?!? Oops, I really don't know! Am I supposed to know this?!?!?!? haha! Whatever it is, it should be fun! I'm quite excited about it!

Well, I better go enjoy my final few days of freedom!!! Oh, and maybe start packing =.=

mwahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Buh-bye, people!!!
P.S.: I miss Niko :( Wish he were here. Praying that all is good where he is! =)

Thank You, Lord :)

JPA results are out!!!

After refreshing and refreshing the page for a loooonnng time, I finally managed to see my offer letter =D

The site was and probably is still jammed up by all the students from my batch plus their entire families trying to check out the scholarship statuses xD

Anyway, THANK YOU GOD!!!!!!!

You are wonderful, You are the best, and You know what's best for me!

Thank You, Thank You, THANK YOU!!!!!!

Thank You, Lord!!! :) :) :)

I got the course I applied for, which is medicine :)
I got UCSI, which, in case you didn't know, stands for University College Sedaya International :)

Local? Yes! But come to think of it, I'd rather study medicine in the country that I love and am used to, my own country, my home, rather than the other countries offered for this course (which come to think of it, aren't all that appealing... Malaysia is still the best!!!!)!

I am so so sooooo grateful that God is behind everything and He has everything under control. He has an awesome plan for me, for all of us! So to all of you who didn't get the scholarship or didn't get the courses/countries you wanted, don't worry! Trust the Lord! He knows what He's doing, He has everything under control! He has a plan just for you, a great one, and awesome one, one that He has just for you.

Oh, I'm supposed to register on th 21st of this month, which is not too long from now! I'm still in lazy mode!!! Oops xDDD

There's something a bit confusing about a course I don't know whether I'm supposed to attend from the 23rd to the 25th of this month, so I don't really know how that's supposed to work out =.=

Daddy and mummy are now waiting to bring me out for to celebrate God's goodness in granting me the scolarship!!!

Fatten me up even more before I go and starve myself living the college life xD

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Buh-bye, people!!!
P/S: Yay! I get to be near koko!!!! Can embarrass him in front of his friends gao-gao! xDDD

THANK YOU LORD, FOR EVERYTHING :)

Licenced to Drive... people up the wall xD

Hey guys!!!

So, I finally took my driving test!!! I had to wake up early yesterday morning to be at the driving school by 8.30 in the morning before being fetched to the JPJ Test Centre. I think yesterday morning was the earliest I've woken up since SPM!!! haha, such an accomplishment!!! xD

Anyway, daddy woke up early too just to fetch me to the driving school. We were supposed to go for breakfast first but I didn't feel like eating, so we went straight to the driving school. I was prepared for a loooonnngggg, boring day alone where I'd be bored stiff with no one to talk to because I didn't know of anybody else taking their driving test the same day as me. However, when I reached the driving school, I saw...... Xiao Tong!!!!!! =D We waved like mad at each other when we saw each other xD

Some time later, the two of us and another girl were brought to the test centre where we each were given a jersey-like thingy with numbers on them. I got 9, Xiao Tong 10, and the other girl 11 :) Then, as expected, we were told to wait for our turns.

Myself and Xiao Tong. You can see a bit of the blue jersey thingy we both are wearing =)

The Bahagian 2 test (the one done in the test centre compound itself) was pretty quick. I think out of all the blue jersey people (LOL, blue jersey people =.=), only one person failed it. Poor lady, though. She was 2nd to get tested from our group and she was in the car for hardly a minute before she was failed :(

Well, anyway, all three of us passed that test and went to wait for the Bahagian 3 test, the one where we have to drive on the roads outside the test centre. There were so many people still waiting for their turns! We had to wait until all the maroon jersey people finished their tests, followed by the blue jersey people in front of us xD

While waiting for our turns, the other girl Xiao Tong and I went with asked us to help choose her an "English name" (Christian name). So that helped us pass our time more quickly :) Xiao Tong and myself both agreed that she looked like a Stephanie but she thought that it was a bit difficult to call.

So we went on picking names (sounds like mothers choosing names for their newborn babies xD) for her and some of the other names we came up with that we thought suited her are Zoe, Katherine, Audrey... There were a lot more but my memory fails me xDDD I still think Stephanie was the most suitable of the lot! =D

While we were waiting, we saw the lady who failed the Bahagian 2 test fail her Bahagian 5 test as well =( She only drove the car for about half a complete rotation of the tyres before she stopped and got out of the car. Poor thing =(

Another guy pula drove the car for a slightly longer time than the lady did before he too, stopped the car and got out. When another guy asked him about it, he said that he failed because he forgot to wear his safety-belt.

Finally, it was my turn to take the test and I went into the small little Kancil waiting for me xD The examiner didn't say much to me during the test and so I just did what I was taught to do :) I wasn't as nervous as I was afraid I was going to be, because I knew that God was with me =)

At the end of the test, after I had stopped back at the test centre, I was asked to sign something and then I was given the sheet of paper that had my test results. It showed 18/20, signifying that I PASSED!!!!! =D

Taking a closer look at the paper, I saw that I got one mark deducted because I wasn't in free gear when I started the engine. I thought and thought about it and concluded that it didn't make sense! I didn't have to start the engine because it wasn't off when I went into the car, and the gear was already free! I made sure of that! I thought that maybe I was expected to switch the engine off then back on again. Well, who cares, right? As long as I passed! xD

Anyway, I waited for Xiao Tong to get back and when she did, we both were all smiles :) She passed with 18 marks as well!!!

Showing off our results :D

We were both super-duper excited that we passed and Xiao Tong was even dancing around for everyone there to see xD So cute lah, that girl! haha

It was when we were waiting for the other girl (I vote her name be Stephanie! In fact, that's what I'm gonna call her from now on! xD) when I saw something that made me think of something. "Xiao Tong!" I said and whacked her on her arm, "wo mei you check wiper he signal na xie!" (I didn't check the wiper and signals)

Then only I realised that the examiner X-ed the wrong box! He was supposed to "X" the box below the free-gear-when-start-engine one to deduct one mark because I didn't check those things! xD

Stephanie came back some time later with a 17 marks pass =D Yay we all passed!!!! :D

We were happy people, showing off our results :D

The JPA results were supposed to be out at 5 pm, but it was stated in the website that the results would be out sometime this week instead...

That night, daddy, mummy and myself went to Secret Recipe to celebrate God's goodness in helping me through my driving exam =)

Note to self: Don't ever order the Green Tea Cheesecake. It's disgusting xD

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Buh-bye, people!!!

Team '09 McD Madness xD

Hey guys!

Koko is back for the long weekend and yesterday we all went to BP Mall. After just staying at home doing nothing for such a long time, I felt a bit out of place seeing so many people in one building, all at the same time xD

I saw so many familiar faces there, and I was so happy to see so many people I haven't met in ages! I went a bit crazy every single time I saw someone I know xD

And then last night, I had the chance to go even crazier when I met up with Anlynn, Becky and Sarah at McDonald's =D Sofiya was supposed to join us too but couldn't because she had to study :( Well anyway, the four of us had a really good time talking and laughing about nothing and everything xD

We actually planned to have dinner in McD and then catch a movie after that. In the end, though, we decided to just skip the movie so that we could have more time to catch up :) I think everyone else that was there in McD when we were there was probably very annoyed with the four of us. We were SO LOUD!

I kind of wonder how the teachers could tahan being around us when we had to go for all the debate competitions and all back in '09! I feel for them, having to be around us for days and days in a row, especially when we had to go to Kedah. It must have been hard for them to tahan, being trapped in the same bus (no, coach =.=) as us for what, 15 hours straight, followed by so many days of us jumping and talking and shouting and laughing and going all hyper around them! Come to think of it, the day we all had Livita must have been a cruel day to the teachers xD

Well anywayyyyyy, I had a great time with the three of them last night :) As usual, we talked and laughed about nothing, anything and everything =D There was this one point where Anlynn was laughing so hard while eating her ice-cream that her tears (and saliva xS) were dripping off her face xD Yes, it was as, if not more disgusting than it sounds xP

The slightly cooled down Anlynn. I think you can still see the tears that ran down her cheeks xD

Come to think of it, the things that we were laughing about weren't even funny! Everything triggered our laughter, which might sound ridiculous, but let me tell you... is actually quite ridiculous! hahahaha, all I can say is I have crazy friends :D

Oh, and Anlynn had just had something done with her teeth/braces/whatever (I was too grossed out to remember the details xD) and so she couldn't really chew. Well, the smart girl that she is got an ice-cream cone and was happily enjoying it until she realised that she couldn't eat the cone! She pusing the cone here, pusing the cone there, still tak dapat eat the cone.

In the end, she used a spoon to eat the ice-cream and then gave up on the cone. Of course, that was after she tried a million and one ways to eat the cone but failing miserably each time =P She even managed to have a huge piece of cone stuck halfway in her mouth while she desperately tried to push the rest of it into her mouth! hahahaha

The rest of Anlynn's cone after she gave up eating it =.=

Anlynn looked like she was drunk.
Sarah and Becky looked like they were tipsy.
I was perfectly normal.
Why are they my friends again? hahaha xP

Maybe the ice-cream was what made everyone high xD All kena sugar rush =.= Whatever it is, we still managed to get a few decent, sane-looking pictures taken :)

Sarah and Becky

Anlynn and myself with our cones! (Thanks Sarah! xD)

And then the group photo of us four =)

We rock, we stone, we pebble, we sand :D
Anyone wanna help me photoshop Sofiya in? xD

mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...

Buh-bye, people!!!
